"I rediscovered exercise after almost 2o years of hibernation when I was in my late 30's. A year later, in the spring of 2007 I signed up for Marine Corps Marathon without really knowing what I was getting into. I had 6 months and no clue what to do but with books and internet, willpower and diligence I got myself ready and on the last Sunday in October crossed the finish line 3 hours and 25 minutes after the start. It was great experience but apparently not long enough. Next year I completed my first ultramarathon and never looked back. Since then I have completed dozens of races from 50K to 100 miles, from 8 hour to 24 hour runs and some shorter ones.

I have adopted whole foods plant based diet in 2010 and have stuck with it more or less for all these years. Main reasons are health, ethical and ecological.
A bit earlier I started using meditation as a way to reduce stress and find inner balance and have been pretty consistent ever since.
